Spiritual Transformation

Roberto Assagioli There is a psychic suffering that seems irrational - one suffers deeply but does not know what the cause is or why it is so intense. There is a reason, however, and it lies in the superpersonal layers of the human psyche. The depth and intensity of experiences from the world of archetypes, without at the same time one having the understanding of them, can lead to serious mental breakdowns. Properly "used," however, such suffering is an expression of spiritual awakening and a means of spiritual transformation.
