Your Spiritual Archetype: The Indigo Soul – Pioneers of the Age of Aquarius

I would like to recommend a book entitled “Your Spiritual Archetype: The Indigo Soul” by Kabir Jaffe and Ritama Davidson.

I came across it through a close friend who sent it to me, struck by the identical messages it contains compared to what Gerrit Gielen has written about Angels on Earth. Only the terminology used to describe these people is different: they are called Indigo Souls. Their primary characteristic is that they are the carriers of a new spirituality, marking the dawn of the Age of Aquarius.

We are used to associating this term with “Indigo Children,” but this book also speaks of Indigo Adults—the parents of these children—who possess the very same traits:

“Currently, a new type of human is being reborn on Earth, almost a ‘next level’ in the evolution of the human race. These people embody a great hope for the future—a promise of a new humanity and civilization. They carry different energies, paradigms, and ways of thinking and feeling. These new people are called ‘Indigo Souls’ because clairvoyants have noticed that the color indigo predominates in their aura…

During our self-improvement workshops around the world, we have met thousands of Indigo Souls. Most are already adults, but very few know they are Indigo or understand what that means. Many suffer because they are different. They often feel lonely, isolated, and misunderstood. The depth of their thoughts and feelings differs from those around them. They have powerful inner reserves of energy, intellect, and emotion, which they themselves often do not understand and find difficult to manage. Usually, they are exceptionally sensitive and thus worry about things that do not bother others. They are carriers of aspirations and ideas that drive them to seek something more, leaving them dissatisfied with current reality. They often feel limited by circumstances and disappointed by what others call the ‘normal world’.

The Shift of Paradigms

The coincidences between Gerrit Gielen’s description of “Angels on Earth” and “Indigo Souls” are far too numerous to ignore—it is clear we are looking at the same phenomenon. The fact that their numbers are increasing (along with the books written about them) only strengthens my conviction regarding the profound changes occurring in human self-awareness. When this number reaches a critical mass, humanity will shift its dominant paradigm of thinking and values—the transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius will be complete.

The authors are psychologists who manage to present, in accessible language, psychological processes that are usually relegated to the field of esotericism—such as hypersensitivity, deep dissatisfaction, and the longing for a more beautiful and just world.

Values of the New Era

Unlike the fading Age of Pisces, where faith was institutionalized in the church, spirituality in the Age of Aquarius will not manifest as religious belief. Instead, it will be expressed through the practice of values such as:

  • Freedom and Progress

  • Individualism and Intellectual Knowledge

  • Sensitivity and Group Consciousness

  • Holistic Thought (the ability to see the Big Picture and the interconnectedness of things)

  • New Spirituality and the Need for Development

  • Foresight and a Sense of Truth

The Battle for the New World

From this book, you will understand not only the challenges you face as an Indigo entity during this transition between eras but also how to cope more easily. If finding your calling is one of those challenges, it is also discussed here. According to the authors, the soul’s longing to find its purpose is yet another characteristic of these brave souls.

Although some perceive them as “divinely chosen,” Kabir Jaffe and Ritama Davidson suggest the opposite. They compare them to scenes from the film “Saving Private Ryan,” where the first ranks of soldiers attacking the enemy trenches are struck down and killed. This is because the battle between the old and the new is fought not only within our souls but also with the external world—with rigid organizations and institutions where the status quo, hierarchy, fear, and dependency are the primary traits.

Therefore, when it comes to battles, it is good to be clear about where the enemy lies and what the appropriate equipment is to handle it. This book helps us do exactly that.
