“The Power of Kabbalah”, Yehuda Berg

I Recommend This Book!

This is one of those rare books that manage to translate the complexity of the great spiritual texts into simple and accessible language. With messages that strike by their clarity and persuasiveness, and therefore have the power to change the way we look at the world and at ourselves. A book in which the first of the twelve Kabbalistic “Rules of the Game” is:

“Do not believe a single word of what you read. Test the lessons you learn.”

The remaining Kabbalistic Rules of the Game are:

  1. There are two realities – our World of Darkness – the world of one percent, and the World of Light – the world of ninety-nine percent.

  2. Everything a person truly wants from life is Spiritual Light.

  3. The purpose of life is spiritual transformation from reactivity to proactivity.

  4. At the moment of transformation, we connect with the realm of the ninety-nine percent.

  5. Never, but never, blame others or external circumstances.

  6. Resistance to our reactive impulses creates lasting Light.

  7. Reactive behavior generates a spark of strong Light, but leaves room for darkness to prevail.

  8. Obstacles are our connection to the Light.

  9. The greater the obstacle, the greater the potential Light.

  10. When difficulties seem insurmountable, invest confidence. The Light is always there!

  11. All the negative traits you notice in others are merely a reflection of your own negative traits. Only by refining yourself can you change others.

And finally, the last rule: Love your neighbor as yourself. Everything else is just talk.

“And now go and study.”

The Power of Kabbalah, Yehuda Berg

I am not a supporter of metaphysical truths that claim to be ultimate truths in a Theory of Everything. But I am a supporter of intelligently presented ideas that encourage critical thinking, trust in one’s own experience, and the application of the “pragmatic criterion of truth” (testing the validity of a belief through its practical application). In this sense, I am a strong supporter of what is written in this book. For me, it is one of the very important books that helped me understand the relationship between the Big Picture and my small human life.

And then to understand the meaning of what is happening to me.
