“There grew in a forest many beautiful and tall trees, and among them one crooked, low, knotty, and ugly tree. All the trees mocked this one, and it was very unhappy.
One day woodcutters came into the forest and began to cut down the trees. All the trees were felled; only the small and crooked one remained. Because there was nothing they could use it for — it was good for nothing.”
Sometimes we need to be exactly like this tree — apparently useless and inconspicuous.
Our crookedness is what makes us inconvenient for others, but it is also what helps us remain true to ourselves.
