Secrecy has a reason to exist

Human being has two sides, outer and inner. The outer can be public property, but the inner cannot… Just as seeds need the darkness and intimacy of the earth, so all relationships that are deep and intimate remain internal.

In ordinary human relationships, intimacy is necessary… Secrecy has a reason to exist. Remember this, and do not forget that if you remain entirely public property, your behavior in life will be very foolish.

The challenge of the outer can only be met if you have deep roots in the inner… That is why I will not say, like Mahatma Gandhi, that your life should be an open book… If the whole book is open, you will be only day without night, only summer without winter. Then where will you rest and where will you find sanctuary?…

Only in rare cases allow someone to enter your temple… This is what love is.”
