“No matter what happens in your life, no matter how unsettling things may seem, do not fall into despair.
Even if all doors remain closed, God will open a new path just for you. Be grateful! It is easy to be grateful when everything is fine. A Sufi is grateful not only for what he has been given but also for the things he has been denied.”
— Elif Shafak, “The Forty Rules of Love”
They say that what limits us, protects us. If there are things today for which you find it difficult to be grateful, perhaps they are protecting you—but from what exactly, you will discover one day in the future. Therefore, even if the insight into the meaning of what is happening now comes later, do not delay your gratitude for the future. Let it be your mantra for today, for tomorrow, for the day after… forever.
They say that the best prayer is gratitude.
