“If you feel like a victim who has no power to change the situation, it proves that there is something within you that you are not yet ready to look at. Therefore, you will remain a victim for as long as it takes to suffer enough, until you finally decide to see the beam in your own eye.” Kim Michaels
I know this is true because I know what the powerlessness to change something looks like. And I know that the only thing that helps in such cases is a little more suffering. In other words, to suffer “enough,” as the thought above says.
Only after that do we become ready to see what is hindering us. It is simply a matter of a little more time—and a little more suffering. After all, we aren’t in a hurry, are we?! Besides, “the motes in the eyes of others are indeed easier to see than the beam in our own.” Surely that’s why a moment comes when some things must practically poke our eyes out for us to finally see them :).
