I am always delighted to see parallels between spiritual texts and scientific texts on psychotherapy. This is exactly the case with the quote from Osho above. When he writes that reality depends on your eyes, I think of cognitive psychotherapy,<\/a> according to which our reaction to external events depends more on the meaning we assign to them than on the events themselves. It is the thinking underlying our perception\u2014the so-called “mediating event”\u2014that shapes our reactions. It is the “glasses” through which we see the world differently.<\/p>\n

Let this thought from Osho be a reminder to you today that reality depends on your eyes. Most importantly, this applies to the beliefs about the rules that give meaning to our brief earthly existence.
