Buddha, however, insisted that they continue on their way. The disciples were very thirsty; they pleaded with him to wait and to try to clear the spring, but Buddha remained firm.<\/p>\n
After hours of walking, they reached another spring \u2014 and it too was muddy. Then Buddha gave a cup to one of his disciples and sent him back to fetch water from the first spring.<\/p>\n
When the disciple reached it, the water was clear \u2014 the mud had settled by itself.<\/p>\n
