Welcome and entertain them all!<\/em>
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows<\/em>
who violently sweep your house<\/em>
empty of its furniture,<\/em>
still, treat each guest honourably.<\/em>
He may be clearing you out<\/em>
for some new delight.<\/em><\/p>\n

The dark thought, the shame, the malice\u2014<\/em>
meet them at the door laughing,<\/em>
and invite them in.<\/em>
Be grateful for whoever comes,<\/em>
because each has been sent<\/em>
as a guide from beyond.<\/em><\/p>\n
